The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Friday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.8% lower at C$1.4209 to the greenback, or 70.38 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4054 to 1.4242.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 10.6 basis points to 2.823%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 3.9307%.
U.S. May crude CLc1 futures fell $5.13 to $61.82 a barrel on Friday.
