The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Tuesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.4395 to the greenback, or 69.47 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4367 to 1.4404.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 4.2 basis points to 2.927%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.1689%.
U.S. May crude CLc1 futures rose 2 cents to $71.5 a barrel on Tuesday.
