Taiwan's high current account surplus a structural problem, central bank says

- Taiwan's high current account surplus is a structural problem reflecting the sharp increase in U.S. demand for the island's technological products and the United States understands this point of view, Taiwan's central bank said on Wednesday.

Taiwan's current account surplus last year was 14.3% of GDP, the central bank said in a report to lawmakers.
