- Brazil posted a current account deficit of $8.655 billion in January, the central bank said on Thursday, while economists polled by Reuteres were expecting a $8.3 billion shortfall.

Foreign direct investment for the month totaled $6.501 billion, in line with the $6.55 billion projected by economists.
