The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.2% higher at C$1.4292 to the greenback, or 69.97 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4271 to 1.4344.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 2.5 basis points to 2.988%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.4663%.
U.S. March crude CLc1 futures fell 76 cents to $71.94 a barrel on Wednesday.
