MOSCOW, Feb 5 (Reuters) - The Russian rouble strengthened against both China's yuan and the U.S. dollar on Wednesday after Ukraine and Russia said they were in touch with U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.
At 1120 GMT, the rouble surged 1.3% to 13.09 to China's yuan in trading on the Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX), its strongest level in four months.
The rouble was up 2.7% at 98.00 against the dollar, according to data from the over-the-counter market.
The rouble has also received support from the increased sales of China's yuan, the most traded foreign currency in Russia, by the central bank, announced on Wednesday.
