Feb 3 (Reuters) - Argentina's Economy Minister Luis Caputo said on Monday that the country's government would "never budge an inch" from fiscal and monetary order, adding that this was the best antidote to help it navigate through the current global external shocks.
His remarks came as global markets tumbled on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump imposed his threatened tariffs on top trading partners, fanning fears of a global trade war.
"We always contemplate the possibility of external shocks," Caputo wrote on X. "The best antidote is to guarantee Argentines that this government will never budge an inch from the fiscal and monetary order that we have been carrying out since day 1."
