BEIJING, Jan 13 (Reuters) - China's export growth quickened in December, expanding 10.7% from a year earlier in value terms, while imports rose 1.0%, customs data showed on Monday.
A Reuters poll of economists had forecast 7.3% growth in exports and a 1.5% decline in imports. Those compared with an 6.7% expansion and 3.9% contraction, respectively, in November.
Exports have been a critical pillar of China's economy, helping to offset a prolonged property market slump and sluggish domestic demand, among other economic setbacks.
