BERLIN, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Swiss taxpayers should not be liable for UBS' U.S. expansion, Swiss Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter said in an interview published on Friday.
"Losses incurred by foreign subsidiaries can directly weaken the parent company," Keller-Sutter told Swiss business publication Finanz und Wirtschaft, adding that the risk would end up in Switzerland.
"This should not be the case. Swiss taxpayers should not be liable for UBS' expansion in the U.S.," she said.
