TREASURIES-US yields mixed after December jobs data

Short-dated U.S. Treasury yields rose and benchmark 10-year yields briefly reached the highest level since September 4, before dropping after data on Friday showed that jobs data for December was mixed.

Employers added 50,000 jobs during the month. Economists polled by Reuters had expected 60,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, fell to 4.4%, below economists' forecasts of 4.5%.

Benchmark 10-year yields US10YT=RR reached 4.211% immediately after the release, before falling back to last trade at 4.177%, down 0.2 basis points on the day.

Interest-rate-sensitive two-year yields US2YT=RR were last up 1.9 basis points at 3.507%.

The yield curve between two- and 10-year yields US2US10=TWEB flattened to 67 basis points.
