TABLE-HSBC expects gold to hit $5,000 an ounce in first half of 2026

- Gold could hit $5,000 an ounce in the first half of 2026, HSBC said on Thursday.

However, the bank cut its average price forecast for the year to $4,587 an ounce, down from a previous projection of $4,600.
