SANTIAGO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Latin America and the Caribbean saw moderate employment recovery in the first half of 2025, with unemployment near 6%, one of the lowest rates in 15 years, but informality and inequality remain entrenched, the International Labour Organization warned on Thursday.
KEY CONTEXT
• Labor force participation averaged 63% in first half of 2025, with employment rate at nearly 60%.
• Informality rate hit 46.7%, meaning almost one in two workers operates in informal conditions.
• Male labor participation exceeds female by 22 percentage points; female unemployment 2 points higher.
