Fed's Cook: maturity mismatch a major vulnerability in hedge fund trading

Nov 20 (Reuters) - The maturity mismatch in funding that characterizes some widely used hedge fund trading strategies in the Treasury securities market are among "major vulnerabilities" in financial markets, the Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook said on Thursday.

"This is something that we are concerned about," Cook said at Georgetown University's business school. "And because ...the hedge funds footprint has increased so much in a short period of time, this is something that has come to our attention."
