Oct 7 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari on Tuesday said that he is skeptical of the "grand declarations" by companies that can use artificial intelligence to rapidly replace workers, noting that previous technological developments took a long time to work their way into regular use in the economy.
"Let's not rush to judgement," Kashkari said at the Star Tribune's North Star Summit 2025, where he shared the stage with OpenAI's chief economist Ronnie Chatterji. "I'm skeptical that you're seeing a lot of workers being replaced with AI right now. It feels to me like it's way too soon."
