WASHINGTON, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Chicago Federal Reserve President Austan Goolsbee said on Thursday that in the absence of official government economic statistics the Fed will work with what it has in hand to decide on monetary policy.
"We're going to go off of the data we have," Goolsbee said on Fox News' "America Reports," including a new Chicago Fed unemployment estimate that showed the unemployment rate unchanged at 4.3% in September and "indicates some steadiness in the labor market."
