Fed's Kashkari: Miran's arrival at Fed from Trump administration like any other transition to a new governor - CNBC

WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Minneapolis Fed president Neel Kashkari said the arrival of Stephen Miran, on leave from the Trump administration, as a Fed governor did not infuse this week's central bank meeting with any particular political overtones, and was no different from other policymakers joining the discussion.

Between as many as 7 governors and 12 reserve bank presidents, the Fed "has 19 participants and every year there's always some turnover," Kashkari said.

"This was like any other transition where somebody comes in and everybody says 'hey, welcome to the table. We look forward to hearing your contributions.' And then everybody went about their business as normal. What was remarkable about this meeting was how unremarkable it was."
