Putin says tax on luxury is reasonable, urges caution

MOSCOW, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that introducing a tax on luxury could be a reasonable step, but cautioned against going too far with the idea.
Sources told Reuters the government is weighing a possible increase in value-added tax (VAT) to keep the budget deficit in check and maintain reserves.
