Sept 1 (Reuters) - Tesla's TSLA.O new car registrations in Portugal rose 28.7% in August from a year ago to 233 units, as overall new registrations of light electric vehicles were up 23.8%, the country's automobile industry association ACAP said on Monday.
In the January-August period, Tesla sales in Portugal still fell 25.7% to 4,605 units, while the total of light electric cars rose 26.8%.
Tesla sales in August were mixed in Europe, data from several other markets showed earlier on Monday, dropping 47.3% and 84% in France and Sweden, respectively, but surging 161% in Spain.
