US crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories fall - EIA

U.S. crude stocks, gasoline and distillate inventories fell last week, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.

Crude inventories fell by 2.4 million barrels to 418.3 million barrels in the week ended August 22, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.9 million-barrel draw.

Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub USOICC=ECI fell by 838,000 barrels last week, the EIA said.

Refinery crude runs USOICR=ECI fell by 328,000 barrels per day in the week, the EIA said, while utilization rates USOIRU=ECI fell by 2 percentage points.

U.S. gasoline stocks USOILG=ECI fell by 1.2 million barrels in the week to 222.3 million barrels, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2.2 million-barrel draw.​

Distillate stockpiles USOILD=ECI, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 1.8 million barrels in the week to 114.2 million barrels, versus expectations for a 0.9 million-barrel rise, the EIA data showed.

Net U.S. crude imports USOICI=ECI rose last week by 299,000 barrels per day, EIA said.
