NEW YORK, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City President Jeffrey Schmid said Thursday higher import taxes are raising the risk of inflation into the end of the year.
When it comes to the impact of tariffs on prices, Schmid said on Yahoo Finance that among companies “there is maybe a little bit of a lean” toward raising prices into the third and fourth quarters, and the Fed needs to monitor that. He also said that inflation risks right now outweigh the risks of labor market troubles.
