NEW YORK, July 17 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on Thursday that the sort of cost overruns the central bank has faced on the renovation of its headquarters are not uncommon and are in part tied to inflation factors.
"There's a lot of attention" being paid to the construction issue, Waller acknowledged.
The cost overruns have become a flashpoint between the Fed, President Donald Trump and other central bank critics, some of whom have been trying to use the issue as a way to remove Fed Chairman Jerome Powell from the chair of the central bank.
