BERLIN, July 15 (Reuters) - The United States should not underestimate the EU's willingness to respond to an announcement that the U.S. would impose tariffs of 30% on EU imports, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned on Tuesday.
The goal is to find a quick solution to the tariff dispute and the EU is refraining from countermeasures for now, said Merz, adding he was in close contact with U.S. President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
