TOKYO, June 7 (Reuters) - Japan's chief tariff negotiator, Ryosei Akazawa, in the U.S. said on Friday he had made some progress in trade talks with his U.S. counterparts aimed at ending tariffs he said were having a major impact on Japan's economy.
Akazawa, who arrived in Washington on Thursday and held two days of talks with officials including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
