NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said on Wednesday uncertainty is such at this moment that the U.S. central bank cannot make policy shifts to address where the economy might be heading.
"It's not a situation where we can be preemptive because we actually don't know what the right response to the data will be until we see more data," Powell said in a press conference following the most recent Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
