US Treasury chief says will address debt ceiling in budget bill

WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) - The U.S. federal government aims to lift its debt ceiling through the budget reconciliation bill making its way through the Republican-led Congress, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed on Wednesday.

"We are going to do debt ceiling through reconciliation," Bessent said in an interview on FOX Business network's "Mornings with Maria" program. "We will never hit that, but if we don't get something done in June, we will go on the warning track."
