Fed's Powell notes uncertainty pushing firms to the sidelines

April 4 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said Friday uncertainty over the economy and government policy is pushing businesses to the sidelines.

“People are just, they just are kind of waiting for clarity,” and “I can’t tell you when that will pass, but you know, ultimately it will pass,” the Fed leader told a conference of journalists. Being cautious right now “seems like the right thing to do,” he added.
