NEW DELHI, March 17 (Reuters) - The Indian government's net direct tax collection grew over 13% year on year to 21.3 trillion rupees ($245.46 billion) during the period April 1-March 16, it said in a statement on Monday.
Direct taxes, which include corporate and personal tax, grew over 16% to 25.9 trillion rupees ($298.47 billion) on a gross basis during the period, the income tax department statement said.
The government said it had issued tax refunds worth 4.6 trillion rupees ($53.01 billion).
