Trudeau says Canada would respond immediately to any U.S. tariffs

OTTAWA, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Canada will respond immediately with a series of forceful countermeasures if the U.S. President Donald Trump goes ahead with a threat to impose tariffs, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Friday.

"It's not what we want, but if he moves forward, we will also act," Trudeau said in televised remarks to a meeting of an advisory council on Canada-U.S. relations.
