Kevin Dundon has been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars and although a lot of viewers would say it's a long time coming, he was rather taken aback by his exit.
The chef and his pro partner Rebecca Scott faced off against Aishah Akorede and Robert Rowinski on Sunday and became the sixth pair eliminated from the contest.
Speaking after the fact, Kevin said: 'No one can deny we started from a very low base and we've progressed every single week.'
'Technically, we can dance and, you know, if you talk to the judges, they say that we're able to dance,' Kevin continued.
'The standard this year is particularly high, which is great for the show, but not for us. But, you know, listen, we got to the quarter final.'
'For me, we entertained a lot of people, we put a lot of sunshine into people's lives on a Sunday night at 6.30pm, and if we can do that, we've won, as far as I'm concerned,' he concluded.
A host of DWTS viewers were devastated to see Kevin eliminated from the competition. One Instagram user wrote: 'Devastated, but thank you so much for all the joy you brought to the show each week! I wont be watching anymore now my favourite is gone #KingKevin.'
Another commented: 'I loved watching you on Dancing With The Stars Kevin. You are a real ray of sunshine. Keep shining bright and keep doing what your doing, while a third said: 'Aaaw we will miss you two ye brought such joy every Sunday evening thanks for the entertainment.'
It's onwards and upwards to the semi-final now, and it's stiff competition. We genuinely can't put a finger on who'll come out on top!
