'A yacht and private chef' Storm Keating treats Ronan to elaborate birthday surprise without her on other side of world

If there's one couple out there who never fail to show their appreciation to one another it's Storm Keating and her singer hubby Ronan.

The couple, who have been together since 2010, are always gushing about each other and it is clear from the amazing 'surprises' that Storm organised for Ronan's birthday that they're not all talk.

From hiring a private chef to chartering a yacht, the mum-of-two went all out to ensure that the former Boyzone star's 48th birthday bash was a success, even though he is on the opposite side of the world due to a tour.

Speaking to EVOKE, Storm admitted that being in Dubai while Ronan is touring in Sydney is 'rubbish,' but added: 'I’ve organised a bunch of surprises for him- I had a private chef cook for him this morning and chartered a yacht on the harbour with all of his best buddies,' and they will also be reunited in just two weeks!

'And now they're back having an after party in one of our good friend's houses and doing some karaoke, I think they're having a really nice time which is just what he needs.'

Storm is of course referring to the 17-month suspended sentence given to Dean Harte, 22, from Tyrellspass in Westmeath, for careless driving in February, which led to the death of Ronan's older brother Ciarán in July 2023.

Dean, who killed Ciarán while he was on the way to watch his son Ruairí play football for Cork City FC in Sligo, was also disqualified from driving for two years.

Speaking after the sentencing, Conall spoke outside Castlebar Courthouse to read a statement which was later shared by his uncle Ronan on Instagram: 'Today’s sentencing was a devastating example of how broken our justice system is.

'You can kill a man and walk free, not even a single night in prison, just a slap on the wrist and a ticket to carry on with your life, like nothing ever happened.'

We have no doubt that the elaborate surprises Storm organised for Ronan were a welcome distraction from the pain and grief, as was the mum-of-two's touching birthday tribute to him which detailed how hard recent times have been for him.

In her post, Storm explained how he flew to perform gigs all over the world straight after his brother's funeral to 'avoid letting people down,' writing: 'Even after losing your big brother, you got on a plane direct from the funeral and flew to different countries to avoid letting colleagues and fans down… even though your heart was smashed to pieces.'

The mum-of-two also revealed that he has 'changed an equal amount of nappies and probably done more school runs, because he’s devoted to his kids & treasures their company,' as well as saying he 'helps with the washing, cooking and tidying, because he can see my workload is equally as demanding and is not too proud to dismiss traditional gender roles.'

Storm also added that he is the type of dad who dresses up and acts goofy just to make her and the children laugh, and who will 'happily miss a flight, just so he can give his baby girl a hug when she walks out of her ballet exam.'

Storm also gushed that he is the type of friend who will 'get up and sing a few impromptu songs' at something he is hosting, because he knows she and their guests will love it.

She also reminisced on a time when he lost his voice on tour and 'instead of cancelling and disappointing' fans, chose to sit on the front of the stage and sing the whole set alongside them. Ronan is currently on tour in Australia while the family live in Dubai. No doubt they will continue the birthday celebrations when he flies home in two weeks. Happy 48th Birthday Ronan!
