Everyone has been watching the high street for more store closures since it was announced that Benetton and New Look would shut, but an affordable skincare brand that was loved in Ireland might be going too.
The news has just broken in the industry that Brand Agency London has gone into administration because of its considerable debts that run to around €12 million.
Although the brand name of the parent company is one you probably don't know, but you will know the affordable skincare brand and its two sister companies. This is sad news indeed.
The beleaguered parent company is home to nail and makeup brand Ciaté London which launched in 2009, Lottie London followed in 2014, and in 2020, founder Charlotte Knight launched affordable skincare brand, Skin Proud.
In recent years, Skin Proud was doing so well, Hair Proud and Body Proud emerged as new brands and we've often spoken about some of the affordable skincare buys are key pieces in our own beauty bags.
It's being reported that Knight is hoping to sell the parent company or to merge it with another to get support. Skin Proud, in particular, will be a missed sorely from beauty shelves.
With the clean and vegan products generally costing less than €20, this was an affordable skincare line with excellent ingredients and even though it was aimed at Gen Z, there was much to benefit older skin like niacinamide, squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, glycerin and more. It will be a shame if it isn't saved.
