Putin says Russia will continue to modernise nuclear forces, state news agencies report

MOSCOW, May 13 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Moscow would continue to modernise its strategic nuclear forces and develop missile systems he said would be capable of overcoming all current and future defence systems, state news agencies reported.

Putin announced on Tuesday that Russia would be ready to deploy its new Sarmat missile - designed to deliver nuclear warheads to strike targets thousands of miles away in the United States or Europe - by the end of this year.
