US Cash Grains-Soy basis steady-firmer at crushing sites
CHICAGO, April 30 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for soybeans firmed at several soy crushing facilities in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, reflecting processor demand for soybean supplies as crush margins remain elevated.
The spot soy basis firmed by 5 to 10 cents a bushel at crushing plants in Decatur, Indiana; Lafayette, Indiana, and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Basis bids for corn were mostly steady, with only a few mixed changes.
More locations have rolled their basis bids to the Chicago Board of Trade July corn CN26, soybean SN26 and wheat WN26 futures contracts as the CBOT's May contracts approach their May 14 expiration.
On the CBOT, July corn CN26 was down 2-3/4 cents at $4.65 a bushel near midday on Thursday while July soybeans SN26 were up 1/4 cent at $11.97-1/4 a bushel. GRA/
