US crude oil and products exports rose last week to record high, EIA says
NEW YORK, April 22 (Reuters) - Total U.S. crude oil and petroleum products exports rose to 12.9 million barrels per day last week, the highest on record, data from the Energy Information Administration showed on Wednesday.
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which normally handles about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies, amid ongoing war with the U.S. and Israel has sharply reduced Middle Eastern oil exports and raised demand for U.S. barrels.
Total U.S. oil and products exports rose about 137,000 bpd week-over-week, the EIA data showed.
