NOTE: The U.S. Department of Agriculture is due to release its monthly supply and demand report at 11:00 a.m. CDT.

  • CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK26 was last up 8 cents at $5.88-1/4 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 was last up 9-3/4 cents at $6.05 per bushel, and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK26 was 8 cents higher at $6.32 per bushel.

  • Analysts polled by Reuters, on average, expect the USDA report to show slightly larger global corn ending stocks than the USDA's March forecast and slightly bigger harvests in Brazil and Argentina.

  • The USDA reported net old-crop U.S. corn export sales at 1,361,300 metric tons in the week ended April 2, in line with trade estimates.

  • CBOT May corn CK26 was last up 2-3/4 cents at $4.50 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - up 3 to 5 cents

  • Soybeans firm along with other grains as crude oil rebounded and lifted soyoil prices.
