Fuel retailers must lower prices as quickly as they hiked them, says French finmin
PARIS, April 9 (Reuters) - The French government will urge petrol and diesel retailers to lower prices just as quickly as they hike them as global oil prices rise and fall sharply, Finance Minister Roland Lescure said on Thursday.
"I will be asking retailers to be just as responsive to price falls as they are to price rises. We have checked – because trust does not preclude scrutiny – that there were no excessive mark-ups by retailers when prices rose," Lescure told Franceinfo radio.
