ReutersApr 2, 2026 1:12 PM

  • U.S. wheat export sales were 23,500 metric tons for 2025-26 in the week that ended on March 26, a marketing-year low, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. Analysts expected 200,000 to 500,000 metric tons.EXP/WHE

  • Traders monitored unfavorable dryness in the U.S. Plains at a time when nationwide plantings are expected to be the lowest since USDA records began in 1919.

  • CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK26 was last up 9 cents at $6.06-1/2 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 was last up 7-1/4 cents at $6.21 per bushel, and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK26 was 5-1/2 cents higher at $6.47-1/2 per bushel.

  • Weekly U.S. corn export sales were 1.1 million metric tons for 2025-26, down 20% from the prior four-week average, USDA said. Analysts expected 900,000 to 1.6 million metric tons.EXP/CORN

  • U.S. farmers plan to plant less corn and more soybeans in 2026 than last year, USDA said on Tuesday. Analysts expect spiking fertilizer costs due to the Iran war will prompt growers to shift even more acreage to soybeans from corn than USDA projected this week.

  • Crop prices have broadly tracked fluctuations in oil during the war, reflecting the use of corn and soyoil in biofuels.

  • CBOT May soybeans SK26 were last up 2-1/2 cents at $11.71 per bushel.
