April 1 (Reuters) - Colonial Pipeline said on Wednesday it has shut its Line 1 gasoline pipeline after a third-party well-drilling crew damaged the pipeline in Paulding County, Georgia, on Tuesday.
Line 1 delivers some 1.5 million barrels of gasoline each day from Houston, Texas, to storage tanks in Greensboro, North Carolina, where the motor fuel is distributed locally or shipped to other markets all the way up to the New York Harbor.
The company said it is assessing the site and carrying out repairs while operations across the rest of its network remain unaffected.
"We've made notifications to state and federal agencies, per our response procedure and regulatory requirements, and are communicating updates to our shippers," the company said.
