ReutersMar 24, 2026 1:26 PM

- The following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Tuesday:

WHEAT - Down 1 to up 1 cent per bushel

  • Wheat futures were mixed as oil prices rose in early trade on Tuesday on supply fears, with Iran denying it had talks with the United States to end the war in the Gulf, contradicting President Donald Trump, who said a deal could be reached soon. GRA/

  • Grains and oilseed prices have broadly tracked fluctuations in crude oil during the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, underscoring the role of corn and soyoil in biofuels and investors' interest in these crops as an inflation hedge.

  • In Russia, a major grain producer, wheat export prices held near levels reached during the three-week rally triggered by the Iranian crisis, and analysts have raised their forecasts for March shipments amid accelerating exports.

  • Forecaster Commodity Weather Group said showers were not likely to bring relief to the wheat crop in the parched U.S. Southern Plains for the next 10 days.

  • CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK26 was last up 1 cent at $5.88-3/4 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 was last up 1-1/2 cents at $6.04-3/4 a bushel and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK26 was trading 2-3/4 cents lower at $6.29-3/4 per bushel.

CORN - Up 1 to 3 cents per bushel

  • Corn futures ticked up, tracking crude prices. GRA/

  • Ukraine's corn harvest may total 31-32 million metric tons in 2026 against 31 million tons harvested in 2025, the farmers union UAC said on Tuesday

  • CBOT May corn CK26 was last up 2-1/4 cents at $4.61-3/4 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 5 to 8 cents per bushel

  • Soybean futures fell back after settling higher in the previous session, shrugging off rising crude prices, which they have recently tracked as soyoil is used in the production of biofuels.

  • Brazil's soybean exports in March fell to a daily average of about 633,400 metric tons through the third week, down 17.9% from last year's full-March average, data from the Brazilian government showed on Monday.

  • Brazil, the world's largest soybean producer, sent a government delegation to Beijing on Monday to discuss phytosanitary inspection rules for Brazilian soybeans following complaints from exporters that Chinese demands were complicating the certification process.

  • Brazil said discussions were only starting and no decision had been reached.

  • CBOT May soybeans SK26 were last down 7-1/2 cents at $11.56 per bushel.
