Norwegian Air adds 120 flights after SAS cancellations

ReutersMar 18, 2026 12:02 PM

- Norwegian Air NAS.OL said on Wednesday it will add 120 flights in the Nordic region between March 25 and April 12 as demand rose after rival SAS on Tuesday announced cancellations over high jet fuel prices caused by the Iran war.

Global airlines sounded the alarm on Tuesday over soaring jet fuel prices triggered by the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, warning of extra costs, higher fares and cuts to some routes.

  • Flights will mainly be added between the Nordic countries and Spain's Malaga, Alicante and Las Palmas destinations, a Norwegian Air spokesperson told Reuters.

  • Some other flights will also be added, such as to London.

  • The available capacity comes from flights Norwegian has cancelled on Middle East routes.

  • Norwegian has not added a fuel surcharge to its tickets but instead uses dynamic pricing based on supply and demand which means increased fuel costs may result in higher prices on some routes, it said.
