TOKYO, March 12 (Reuters) - Japan's biggest utility and LNG buyer, JERA, has agreed to sell its interests in two Australian liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, Gorgon and Ichthys, to MidOcean Energy.
JERA will maintain its investments in the Wheatstone LNG project, the Barossa gas project, and the Scarborough gas field development, it said.
JERA did not disclose the price of the deal, subject to government approvals.
JERA has been ramping up new upstream and supply deals, including with the United States and Qatar, to rebalance its supply mix and reduce its reliance on the dominant supplier, Australia.
