CHICAGO, March 3 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly flat on Tuesday at grain elevators and processing facilities across the U.S. Midwest, dealers said.
The corn basis eased by 1 cent a bushel at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The soy basis rose by 3 cents a bushel at a river terminal near Davenport, Iowa, and was steady elsewhere.
Farmers have been selling some of their old-crop supplies but believe that corn prices are still too low, a dealer said.
Crop insurance price projections that may be used to determine indemnities for the 2026 growing season are the lowest for corn since 2021 but for soybeans they are higher than last year, data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture showed on Monday.
Chicago Board of Trade corn and soybean futures were slightly lower by 11 a.m. CST (1700 GMT) on Tuesday after rising overnight.GRA/
