Germany's Merz stresses commitment to Israel's security

BERLIN, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Germany has not participated in U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iranian targets, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Saturday, adding that Berlin was committed to peace and security in the Middle East.
"It (Germany) remains committed to peace and security in the region and underlines its commitment to Israel's security. It believes that the Iranian people have the right to determine their own destiny," Merz said in a statement.
