
CHICAGO, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady in a spot check of locations in the U.S. Plains on Wednesday, as futures fell.
An active rain pattern by late next week should provide some relief to U.S. Plains and Midwest wheat, according to Commodity Weather Group. Meanwhile warmer weather is expected to activate growth.
Protein premiums for wheat shipped by rail to and through Kansas City rose 5 cents for wheat with 11.2% protein content and for wheat with 12.4 to 12.8% protein content. It rose 10 cents for wheat with 13% to 13.6% protein content and 2 cents for wheat with 13.8% to 14% protein content. KCBT/SCA
K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 lost 1-3/4 cents to end at $5.52-1/2 per bushel.
K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 slipped 2-3/4 cents to finish at $5.64-1/4 per bushel.
