PBF refinery in Torrance, California, reports unplanned flaring due to power failure

NEW YORK, Feb 19 (Reuters) - A power failure occurred at PBF's PBF.N 155,000 barrel-per-day refinery in Torrance, California, while units were coming back from planned maintenance, triggering unplanned flaring, two sources familiar with the matter said.
Maintenance activities at the refinery's hydrotreater units were planned for the first quarter.
The refinery reported unplanned flaring due to utility power failure, a filing with the South Coast Air Quality Management District on Wednesday showed.
PBF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
