
SAO PAULO, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Vale Base Metals has agreed to form a four‑party consortium to advance the Thompson Nickel Belt in Manitoba, Canada, the company VALE3.SA said on Thursday.
The deal brings together Vale Base Metals, Exiro Minerals, Orion Resources Partners and Canada Growth Fund CGF, with the consortium partners committed to investing up to $200 million to support nickel mining in the region, the Brazilian miner added.
Vale Base Metals will retain an 18.9% minority stake, according to the securities filing.
