US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids steady as futures rally

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat in a spot check of locations in the Southern U.S. Plains on Wednesday as futures climbed.

  • Precipitation is expected to improve moisture for winter wheat in the coming weeks, according to forecaster Commodity Weather Group.

  • Protein premiums for wheat shipped by rail to and through Kansas City fell by 1 cent for wheat with 11% to 11.2% protein. It fell by 2 cents for wheat with 13.8% protein and by 15 cents for wheat with 14% protein.

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 rose 12-1/4 cents to $5.51 per bushel.
