US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids steady as futures rally

CHICAGO, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat in a spot check of locations in the Southern U.S. Plains on Wednesday as futures climbed.

Precipitation is expected to improve moisture for winter wheat in the coming weeks, according to forecaster Commodity Weather Group.
Protein premiums for wheat shipped by rail to and through Kansas City fell by 1 cent for wheat with 11% to 11.2% protein. It fell by 2 cents for wheat with 13.8% protein and by 15 cents for wheat with 14% protein.
K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 rose 12-1/4 cents to $5.51 per bushel.
