CHICAGO, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat in the U.S. Plains on Wednesday as farmers awaited rains expected over the weekend.
Trade has slowed as producers seek to procure fertilizer and apply it ahead of weekend showers so the rain can activate the fertilizer.
The weekend rains are expected to relieve moisture for parts of the U.S. Plains winter wheat crop.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture in Tuesday's monthly supply and demand report raised its forecast of U.S. 2025/26 wheat ending stocks, bucking trade expectations for a reduction.
K.C. March HRW wheat futures KWH26 were last up 1-1/2 cents at $5.30-1/4 per bushel as of 10:30 a.m. CST (1630 GMT).
