WHEAT - Up 2 to 5 cents per bushel

  • CBOT wheat Wv1 higher on fund short-covering and recent dollar .DXY weakness, which tends to make U.S. grains more competitive globally.

  • Benchmark CBOT March wheat WH26 reached $5.43 per bushel ahead of the daily pause in trade, the highest in nearly two months.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture said net U.S. wheat export sales in the week ended January 22 totaled 558,201 metric tons for shipments in the 2025/26 marketing year. The sales were near the high end of a range of trade estimates.

  • CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 was last up 5 cents at $5.41 per bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 was last up 3-1/4 cents at $5.45-1/2 per bushel and Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 was last up 3-1/4 cents at $5.77-1/4 per bushel.

CORN - Up 1 to 2 cents per bushel

  • CBOT corn futures Cv1 firm for a second straight session, supported by recent dollar weakness and good export demand for U.S. supplies. Hot and dry weather in crop areas of Argentina also underpinned the market.

  • The USDA reported net U.S. corn export sales last week at 1,648,921 metric tons, down from a multi-year high a week earlier, but in line with trade estimates.

  • CBOT March corn CH26 was last up 1-3/4 cents at $4.31-3/4 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 4 to 6 cents per bushel

  • CBOT soybean futures Sv1 rise on recent dollar weakness and follow-through buying from Wednesday's rally to a 1-1/2 month peak. Gains capped by the accelerating harvest of a likely record-large crop in Brazil.

  • Actively traded March soybeans SH26 failed to top Wednesday's high of $10.84-3/4 and hit overhead technical chart resistance at its 100-day moving average during overnight trading.

  • The USDA said net U.S. soybean export sales last week fell to a 10-week low of 818,972 metric tons, at the low end of a range of trade estimates.

  • CBOT March soybeans SH26 were last up 5-1/2 cents at $10.80-1/2 per bushel.
