CHICAGO, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Tuesday:
WHEAT - Down 3 to 4 cents per bushel
CBOT wheat futures fell in early moves as tensions between Washington and Europe over Greenland unsettled investors and ample global supply hung over grain markets. A weaker dollar, however, lent underlying support, in theory making U.S. grains more competitive globally.
The benchmark CBOT March wheat contract WH26 stayed inside of Friday's trading range in early moves.
Traders were assessing sizable wheat purchases by Saudi Arabia and Algeria, although prices suggested stiff export competition.
CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 was last down 3-3/4 cents at $5.14-1/4 per bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 was last down 1-1/2 cents at $5.25-3/4 per bushel while Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 was last unchanged at $5.65 per bushel.
CORN - Down 1 to 2 cents per bushel
CBOT corn declined in early moves as traders monitored a geopolitical stand-off over Greenland. A weaker dollar underpinned the market and the CBOT March corn contract CH26 stayed inside of Friday's trading range in early moves.
CBOT March corn CH26 was last down 1-3/4 cents at $4.23 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Down 1 to 2 cents per bushel
CBOT soybeans were lower at the daily pause in trade on spillover weakness from wheat and corn along with expectations of slowing demand for U.S. soybeans as the harvest of a massive Brazilian crop gets under way.
China has bought about 12 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans, fulfilling a U.S.-stated pledge to purchase that volume by the end of February, three traders told Reuters, after a late-October trade truce spurred buying.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed private sales of 190,000 metric tons of U.S. soymeal to the Philippines for delivery in the 2025/26 marketing year that began on October 1, 2025.
Brazilian farmers had harvested 2% of their 2025/26 soybean crop as of last Thursday, agribusiness consultancy AgRural said on Monday, exceeding the 1.7% reported a year earlier.
CBOT March soybeans SH26 were last down 1-1/2 cents at $10.56-1/4 per bushel.
